FROM GHENT TO OUDENAARDE

Short description
No problem! From Ghent-Sint-Pieters station, you can reach Oudenaarde in less than half an hour by train—fast, convenient, and with space for your bike.
Note: Ghent also has a second station (Gent-Dampoort), but it's much less practical for starting your journey.
Train times can be found here: Belgian Train.
Don’t forget to buy a separate ticket for your bike, in addition to your own ticket. Many trains also have a special car for bicycles.
Or choose the most scenic option: cycle from Ghent to Oudenaarde along the Schelde River. A flat and peaceful 30-kilometer ride, entirely along the water. Perfect as a warm-up for a day of climbing or a relaxing finish after a tough ride.
Below you’ll find the GPX file for the route from the center of Ghent to the heart of Oudenaarde. The entire ride follows the Schelde, entirely on car-free bike paths—calm, flat, and simply beautiful.
And if you wonder why those annoying rumble strips appear every kilometer… well, here’s why: Read more.
