In Belgium, the train system is ideal for cyclists. Every train has special spaces where you can take your bike, making it easy to combine cycling and public transport.
From almost any medium-sized city in Flanders, like Bruges, Antwerp, Leuven, or Kortrijk, you can take the train back to Ghent (or start your trip and return by bike).
Trains run frequently, tickets are inexpensive and bringing your bike on board is simple and convenient.
Please note that you need to buy a separate train ticket for yourself and an additional bike ticket for your bicycle.
